Recap - Fearless leadership, authenticity, and bold action were at the heart of the 2025 Annual Women in Lodging Statewide Leadership Luncheon
This year’s event brought together women from across the industry—and beyond—for an afternoon of inspiration, insight, and meaningful connection. Keynote speaker Ukeme Awakessien Jeter delivered a powerful address titled “Lead Fearlessly, Permission Optional,” urging attendees to stop waiting for approval and start stepping fully into their leadership potential. She shared an empowering message about embracing courage in the face of fear, challenging the audience to create impact by leading with confidence, initiative, and authenticity.
Following the keynote, attendees heard from a dynamic panel of women leaders who shared personal stories and forward-thinking perspectives on growth, leadership, and the evolving future of the industry. For the first time in the event’s history, the panel featured professionals from outside the hospitality world—bringing fresh insight and diverse voices into the room. A special thank-you goes to Anne Marie Wilson, Alex M. Varney, Amanda Olavarria, and Deepa Kellar for their openness and candor, and to moderator Lisa Garner for guiding the conversation with intention and clarity.
